Israeli Airstrikes In Gaza kill A Senior Hamas Member

Israel-300x108For decades now thousands of victims have been killed between the two sides, Israel and Palestine. Mostly are civilians but some are senior officials.

As of late, during the Israeli air attack on Gaza, a senior Hamas member, Saed Al Bitran, was killed. Al Bitran was the one who was in charge of the weapons manufacturing, Hamas forces said.

The Israeli’s series of attack was in retaliation to the rocket strikes on the coastal side of Ashkelon and Sderot in Israel by Hamas group although there were no casualties on the part of Israel, only significant damages.

Apart from the central Gaza where the weapons manufacturing is located, Israel also targeted the runway, near the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s headquarters, now occupied by Hamas. Also included in the target are the “terror-activity site in northern Gaza and a weapons-smuggling tunnel in Rafah. No casualties report from Hamas.

Ashkelon, with a population of approximately 125,000 residents, is about 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the Israel-Gaza border and has been the target of many rockets originating from Gaza — some wounding residents.

There was a clear progress of MidEast peace talk between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who belongs to Fatah political movement. Fatah is the rival of the more hard-line Hamas, which runs Gaza. The Arab League has given the authority to Abbas for direct talks with Netanyahu for negotiations. The Israelis are open for negotiations. . George Michael of the Obama Administration is the point of contact for the two sides.

Whether Abbas will take the first step to do the peace negotiation, it remains to be seen because of his reluctance.
